APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR A HEALTH & SAFETY CONSULTANT POSITION BASED IN LONDON

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a  qualified Health and Safety Professional to join our team of highly motivated consultants. The position involves providing health and safety consultancy services predominantly though not exclusively to our Health Care and Medical Research clients. We are therefore looking for candidates who preferably have experience of working in one or both of these sectors.

MAIN DUTIES

• Provision of professional and technical advice to Clients concerning their responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work etc Act, associated Regulations and other legislation.
• Interpretation of and provision of advice on compliance with new legislation.
• Development and maintenance of Client Policies, Codes of Practice and their revision where this becomes necessary.
• Inspection/Audit of Client workplaces and provision of written reports.
• Hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Investigation of accidents, dangerous occurrences.  Monitoring accident reports and other performance indicators.
• Maintaining systems for the production of relevant statistical information, eg accident analysis.
• Attending/providing Secretary services to Client Safety Committees and other Committees as necessary.
• Liaising with the Health & Safety Executive and other enforcing authorities.
• Supervision, support and guidance of the work of subordinate staff.

• Co-ordination and/or provision of Health and Safety training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• NEBOSH Diploma
  
• Chartered Member of IOSH
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
  
• 4 years relevant experience
  

• Valid Driving Licence
   

Desirable

• Qualification to degree level standard (Preferably in science related subjects)
  
• Nursing, healthcare, pathology laboratory or medical research background
  

• Experience in working in the Health Care/Medical Research Sector

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Prepared to be adaptable both in terms of work location and hours of work.

Salary

Negotiable dependant on qualifications  and experience but will not be less than £35,000
